I have been using Acronis True Image perpetual license faithfully to do a manual backup every 3 months and it normally checks for an update when it runs so I assumed it would download the latest build,which is apparently necessary for Acronis to work I don't do online cloud backups if that makes a difference, manual backups stored on the computer's hard drive itself.

I got the email; downloaded allegedly ; started the install but then stopped when presented with the install options Repair or Uninstall, the option to Install was missing.

If it really was a new build newer thanthen the Install option should have been there. You only get the Repair or Uninstall options when the version you are trying to install is the same as the version you already have installed.

Either that or isn't correctly versioned internally so the installer gets confused or something.
